In Finland
we use to say that we have four seasons, namely spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Sometimes I
wonder if it still is true in Southern Finland.
Winter is
the season when lakes are covered with ice and there is snow on the ground.
It's
December now and we are suppose to have winter.
But when I look out of the window I can't see snow.
And the
lakes are not covered with ice.
It looks like
the winter is blown away.
It simply
has disappeared.
Today we
seem to have only three seasons.
Instead of
winter we only have one long, dark and rainy autumn.
But even
though we have lost the winter we still have one typical winter bird in our
garden.
That's the bullfinch.
